The Royal British Legion, Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund and Citizens Advice Bureau offer new support to Armed Forces and veterans
Chester CAB, The Royal British Legion and The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund have launched a new Benefits and Money Advice Service for serving and ex-serving members of the community and their dependants.
Chester CAB is one of a number of bureaux in England and Wales who are part of the new partnership. The funding provided by the Legion and the RAFBF will enable the CAB/RBL team, who are based at Dial House, to provide Benefits and Money Advice.
Recent research shows there is a need for more services which provide money and benefit advice to Service personnel and their families. This new partnership will provide much-needed additional support to all those currently serving in the Armed Forces as well as ex-Service personnel and their dependants.
Andrew Bridges, Benefits & Money Advice Caseworker said:
“People linked to the Armed Forces have the same problems as everyone else such as accessing benefits and need advice with money problems. Once people leave the Armed Forces they may not be aware of the benefits they are entitled to and may need help with housing or employment issues. We want to make sure they get all the support they need and, by working with The Royal British Legion and The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, we hope to do just that.”
So if you have served or are serving in the armed services, which can even include 7-days Territorial Army service and need debt and/or benefits advice please contact Andrew Bridges or Virginia Hammond at Ellesmere Port CAB on telephone no. 0151 357 3853 or e-mail andrew@epncab.org.uk or virginia@epncab.org.uk.
